Saligo Bay

Directions: From Bridgend, follow the main road towards Bruichladdich. A mile before Bruichladdich is a sign to Kilchoman. Go right here and follow the single track road for one mile, then go right and follow the road until you get to the red phone box near Carnduncan. Go left here for a little over half a mile. When the road makes a sharp turn to the left, you can park your car near the gate.

Walk: Cross the gate and from here it is only a short walk over the dunes directly west towards the sea to get access to Saligo Bay. Here, wonderful sunsets and stunning light awaits you, or just a memorable beach walk. The light on this part of Islay is exceptional and by some considered to be the best in the whole of Scotland! This beach is not safe for swimming due to strong currents!
